
Matthew Ford
Matthew Ford is Associate Professor in War Studies at the Swedish Defence University, focussing on military innovation and the representation and conduct of war in the twenty-first century. The author of War in the Smartphone Age, Weapon of Choice and co-author of Radical War (all published by Hurst), he was the founding editor of the British Journal for Military History. Having earned his PhD from King’s College London, he has been a visiting scholar at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey and a West Point fellow. Currently an associate editor of the European Journal of International Security, he also edits the Technology/Data/War Series for Hurst. He is an associate of the Imperial War Museum Institute in London, an honorary historical consultant to the Royal Armouries in Leeds, a fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a senior non-resident fellow at the Global and National Security Institute, University of South Florida.
