Mediterraneans: The Ottoman and Post-Ottoman World

Series editors: Mark Mazower (Columbia); Andrew Arsan (Cambridge); Molly Greene (Princeton); Antonis Hadjikyriacou (Princeton/University of Crete)

This collection aims to bring together new and innovative scholarship on the Ottoman and post-Ottoman worlds. Though focused principally upon the history of societies irrigated by the Mediterranean, its remit runs from central Europe to Iraq, and from the Black Sea to the Horn of Africa. The series sets out to examine both these territories’ complex imperial and post-imperial pasts and presents, and their interactions and entanglements with other spaces and societies. The editors particularly welcome proposals from historians, but suitable contributions from political and social scientists, anthropologists, geographers, literary scholars and art historians are also encouraged. Scholars interested in contributing to the series should contact Hurst.
