Birkbeck University is pleased to welcome the author, journalist and broadcaster Mihir Bose on Thursday 27th June. Mihir will spend the evening discussing his latest book, his memoir, Thank You Mr Crombie: Lessons in Guilt and Gratitude to the British. There will be a Q&A session afterwards as well as a book signing event and the opportunity to purchase a copy of the book.

He will focus on his move to the UK and how, once he had permanent resident’s rights, he was able to settle and develop his career, and fulfil his great dream of becoming a writer. Mihir will provide us with insight into his life in the UK and how it has changed for the better during his career. He will focus on how societal changes have provided the backdrop that enabled him to pursue a career in sports journalism in which he became the leading sports journalist in the UK, working as the chief sports news correspondent at the Daily Telegraph, as the BBC’s first sports editor and first non-white editor, and also working for the Sunday Times for 20 years. His knowledge of cricket and football in particular is remarkable having written numerous books on both sports. This promises to be an engaging evening in which Mihir will discuss his extraordinary life and career.
