Scripts of Terror: The Stories Terrorists Tell Themselves

26 Feb 2020 – 18.00

Join King’s College London for the launch of ‘Scripts of Terror: The Stories Terrorists Tell Themselves’, a new book by Benedict Wilkinson, Associate Director at the Policy Institute, which explores terrorism as a strategy.

The book asks why, when the vast majority of terrorist, insurgent and revolutionary movements have failed spectacularly, do terrorists choose terrorism? Where is the appeal? And what do they hope to achieve?

Covering the terrorist movements of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, the book shows the different strategic aims of these groups and why terrorism is so alluring for some despite its being so hard to pull off.

Ben will be joined by Professor Sir Lawrence Freedman.

18:00: Guest arrival and drinks
18:30: Speeches
19:00: Reception

Places and venue details will be confirmed via email after registration.
