Margaret MacMillan and Mike Martin: Why Do We Fight?

What is it about humans that makes us take up arms against each other, when we know the risks it can bring? Join a fascinating exploration of humanity’s complex relationship with war and conflict, and the factors that drive us to participate in it. Margaret MacMillan is one of the most acclaimed modern historians in the world. She is Professor of History at the University of Toronto, emeritus Professor of International History at St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford, was last year’s Reith lecturer and is the author of many highly praised books including her latest: War: How Conflict Shapes Us. Joining Margaret will be Mike Martin, former British Army Officer, Visiting War Studies Fellow at King’s College London and author of Why We Fight. Talking to Julia Wheeler.

Because of Covid restrictions, books will include a book plate signed by the author.
