Fact and Fiction in Economics: The Role of Media and Social Media w/ Vicky Pryce

20 Nov 2019 – 20:00 – 21:30

Nine out of ten economists were opposed to Brexit. Economists support inheritance tax but opinion polls show most people think it is an unfair tax. How should economists try to communicate, and what should we expect from reporting of economics?

With Roger Farmer (Warwick University), Marina Della Giusta (University of Reading), Vicky Pryce (Centre for Economics and Business Research), Romesh Vaitilingam (writer and media consultant) and chair, Margaret Heffernan.
